The back of the vest is solid black, just the front is tartan.
Left the cut to Kathy Lare.
Maybe next week will be able to wear it with a solid color kilt for a pic. Getting HOT in my neck of the canyonlands though.

Sorry Ron, but I have to refer to your vest a waistcoat!! On this side of the pond, a vest is a garment worn next to the skin under the shirt - the upper-body equivalent of underpants (whatever they might be!!!).
Whatever it is known as, that is one splendid garment you have there. My congratulations to you and, of course, to Kathy.
Just one thing: please, please, PLEASE, never ever wear it with a tartan kilt - not even the "X Marks..." kilt. Promise me you won't! It will look very smart, I think, worn with a plain black kilt. Blue too, but, as you've probably already discovered, the "X Marks..." blue is extremely difficult to match or compliment.
