1410 - Drinky MacDrunkard discovered how to make single malt scotch. He was then beaten to death by his neighbors when they found out they had to wait 12 years before they could drink it...

That reminds me of the time I brewed up a barleywine (ala Thomas Hardy) with a friend of mine who wanted to shove the racking tube down my throat when I told him he had to come over in a year's time to try it out and see if it was ready for consumption.

anyone ever see the robin williams standup bit on how golf was invented? pretty funny, of course vulgar (it's robin williams), and pretty un-PC, but still kinda funny.
