The Schenectady Pipe Band sponsors a kilted golf tournament every year. That's probably where ckelly's friends were headed.

Bob, We are all actually Saratoga, NY Hibernians and have a good relationship with the Schenectady folks. We were at our own golf outing last year when that picture was taken. The guy in the middle runs the Irish shop on Broadway and sells kilts and accessories for those in need locally. I will have to find out when the pipe band outing is this year. Probably a good excuse to wear my Black Stewart.

    Out on a limb....

Just a thought. Since golf was invented in Scotland, and it seems I remember pictures of early players wearing kilts, doesn't it seem logical that the kilt would be, I don't know, perfectly suited for the game?

Thanks for response, guys. I'll certainly be the first kilted player at my local golf club.

    Newly Kilted

Just got my SWK, Standard NightStalker. As you can see, I haven't gotten any hose yet.

I intend to play kilted asap!

The kilt looks great. The socks you are wearing are, to me, more appropiate for golf anyhow. One question, is this just a staged pic, or are you playing a round of night golf? I played in a night tournament once and it was the most fum I've ever had playing golf. Of course, that could have something to do with the format. It was a captain's choice tournament. We teed off at 6 PM and played 9 holes. Then all the groups came back to the clubhouse to await full darkness, of course, with an "open bar", before playing the second 9 in total darkness.

I don't golf much (I'm terrible at it really) but in my opinion, golfing kilted is the only way to golf.

If I'm going to fail miserably, I may as well look good doing it.
