    That's a point well taken...I've been buying 34 waist jeans for quite some time and 36 inch kilts are what I measurred and buy and they fit quite nicely. I know that it's only two inches in my case but it could be a significant difference.

    Sure, rub it in! Some of us manly men deal with a much greater disparity between p%$^s size and kilt size. Of course, to the ladies, that more than 2 inches might be welcome!

    I have no experience in trying to modify a kilt for a smaller waist but the other thing you might want to think about is kilt length. I'm 5'10" and find the stillwater kilts to be a couple inches too long. Although I have no idea how tall you are at 14, I suspect that a full-size kilt may be too long as well. Good luck kilt hunting.
