Olde Kilted Fool
I loved my drinking, but I sure do miss my braincells now....
So I live in a small rural town of 7,000. Most folks know me from my high profile job....and I've been kilted full time for nearly 9 months.
Today there was a health fair at the hospital. I was on the hospital board of directors for a few years. I know most of the people exhibiting for other agencies at the health fair. I know most of the folks at the hospital.
So, I kilt up and sally forth. All is well until about an hour into the thing I discover a free test for body fat. This involves taking off one shoe. In my case that was one Z Coil workman's boot.
I expected I'd turn up about 40% fat, but was amazed it was "only" 24% (yes, I know that's not healthy). I got so involved talking to the techies about it that when I put my boot back on I plum forgot to push my sox back down to my boot top.
So, I spent the next 20 minutes wandering the fair with one sock pushed down and the other sock pulled up.
No one said anything. Not sure if they were polite or figured I had some sort of "condition" being a hospital deal and all.
When I finally headed home I noticed it after getting into my car.
Feel like an olde fool....
Got home and took a pic of what it looked like....be sure and swallow whatever's in your mouth before scrolling down

That's a black Broadsword Jacobite shirt from Kiltstore, the USA Kilts MacLean Hunting casual, Buzz Kidder sporran, SportKilt sox, and Z Coil Workman's boots.

Thanks Breeze,
Was showing for me, then not showing. Tried editing it. If it still doesn't work the pic is the last one in my MacLean Hunting sub album on Page 3 of my gallery.

Ron, great story! But in my experience (almost as long kilted as you), most people never make it beyond the kilt, no matter how long they have seen you wearing it. Once their eyes make it down to the kilt, anything below is automatically invisible, and pretty much the shirt being worn is as well. I have actually had a desire to wear some really horrendous hose and shoes to work, just to see if anybody really notices. I am thinking pink hose with green Peter Pan shoes, weathered Lamont kilt, brown sporran, black belt, and burgundy golf shirt. Any bets on if anybody would say anything?

Ron, at least your hose were the same color. I went around a few weeks back with one navy blue and one black. And I won't even get into "zipper problems" with pants that seemed to be increasing before I started wearing a kilt everyday - for some of us another good reason to wear a kilt.

OK, now that I have that picture burned into my mind, I am glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that! That is priceless!! I say go for it!
That is a correct assumption that the line of sight stops at the unusual apparel. I wore a Resistol Straw Roper cowboy hat to work (I am a comm tech with my local school district) and everybody commented about the hat, missing the levi's I wore instead of the contract required carhartt chocolate work pants.
Hmmm, maybe a chocolate canvas casual kilt next.....

For sure Ray!,
The chocolate UK Workman's is a beauty. Guessing it'd meet your contract specs "technically" sort of....kind of...maybe....
Or, no one would notice...

Oh No, I can already see that showing up in P1M's Do's and Don'ts thread.
Congrats for having the health concerns to get yourself checked but to someone who is still labeled obese, I would love to hear 24% instead of "you've still got to lose more".
