Isn't Barb's book great! I have it, and though I can't hand sew worth a lick, it still taught me a lot about kiltmaking that I would have never known otherwise. I think its even useful for those of us who use a sewing machine to do our stitches.

Great story! And for anybody who is getting into kilt buying and wearing, Barb's book is a great way to learn about how a good kilt is made, even if you never plan on making one yourself. She also has some good advice on kilts and kilt wearing in general.

If that party was the kind I am thinking of, its probably a good thing you didnt wear your kilt. You may not have made it out of there.

I'm willing to bet it was indeed the type of party you're thinking of. And, you may be right... they all seemed quite interested in the idea of me being kilted.

Turns out almost half of them are deployment widows (their hubbies are deployed). Probably could have been "bad" had I been kilted.
