    I M Kilted,

According to the Minnesota Tartan website (which Dilrule provided a link to) the only cloth available is an 11 ounce material in the dress version of the tartan. You don't want a kilt made of this material. It is too light and has big white stripes. It is intended for ladies skirts and dresses.

By the way, I was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. I don't have a kilt in this tartan, but there is/was at least one member of this forum who does.

    Um, I M,

My first hand sewn kilt was an 11oz Lochcarron material in Macdonald Lord of the Isles Hunting. Kathy Lare sewed it up. Its a beautiful kilt and the material works fine as a man's kilt. I've been very pleased.

I also have 13 oz and 16 oz hand sewn's to compare it to. Would hesitate to decide not to get a kilt you want just because the fabric is 11 oz.

Made me a happy camper. Pics in my gallery but they're all front views. Guess I need to take some back shots of that kilt.
