    I lived in Virginia one summer in college. I used to love to hike around Great Falls!

    I had forgotton how beautiful it is. Thanks for posting the pics!

    Great Falls is one of the best places in the Greater DC area for hiking. It's pretty unbelievable how nice / quiet / wilderness it is so close to the beltway.

    Way2fractious - you need to consider adding this to your itenerary.

    I like hiking on both sides of the falls and am looking forward to doing it this summer in a kilt. Whooo whooo!

    Oh god, great falls scares me. I flipped at the bottom of the rapids in a kayak, got stuck inside. not fun stuff. Beautiful scenery though.

    Thanks for all the kind words and compliments.

    Think I may have to make it to the MD side some day, and still have yet to walk above the falls. Great spot for climbing too if I can ever get my act together and get back into that.
