save an extra $100 and go for this one http://www.tartanweb.com/view/ready-...on_modern.html or the PV Hunting Stewart for $80 here http://www.tartanweb.com/list/standa...ard_kilts.html or the 5 yard Balmorals here http://www.tartanweb.com/list/balmoral_kilts.html
This is the same company as www.scottishkilts.net
If you may want a Welsh kilt try out the Casual/Leisure Cilt - St Davids Polyester (Hamish has one) at http://www.welsh-tartan.com/shop.htm

Isn't anyone going to suggest a Stillwater Economy?? I think PV is cooler on average, but I've never been uncomfortably warm in my SWK acrylic. Having the pleats not sewn down probably helps it breathe better than a more traditional construction. You can get 3 for $130!

The Stillwater will be fine if you don't mind acrylic and the pleats not sewn down. I'm not keen on acrylic and I like the feel and would only buy a kilt if the pleats are sewn down. You have to decide what you like and want in a kilt yourself before you buy. 3 for 130 sounds good, but are you getting what you want out of your money. I would rather have one quality fitting garment than three that sort of do the job. There may be others that can get you a better fit for you and for your money. It's up to you as to what you are looking for.
