My calendar also has that Saturday marked down. My plan is to have a full handsewn traditional kilt from the XMarks tartan already in my possesion, adorned with an XMarks kilt pin now in production.
There are several things already on my list for that event: 1) check in with my Scottish clan, 2) get my "Top 10 Worst Kilts" poster autographed by the photographer , 3) run the kilted mile (only practice beforehand this year  ), and 4) meet up with as many XMarks clan members as are there on Saturday.
I'll probably drag along a small sampling of casual kilts and fur sporrans, a casual kilt work-in-progress, my camera, and something to eat and something cold (but non-alcoholic) to drink.

They are held on Labor Day weekend every year. These games have a long and venerable history. They are the regional championships each year and draw the top competitors and very large crowds. More info can be found here: http://www.caledonian.org/

well, I can't help with the rest of the ensemble, but the pins should arrive in plenty of time. At first I had a heart attack as I thought it said Memorial Day!!!

I actually thought about making the trip out until I checked the date. I'm already committed to playing my pipes with our Grade 4 band at the northeastern pipe band competition at the Capital District Highland Games over Labor Day weekend. Drat!

I think we should have the X Marks tent at Pleasanton be a "do it yourself" demo sort of tent. If we can scare up a quiet 110 volt generator, then we can have one or two sewing machines going. Mike (maybe) can bring in some sgian dubhs he's made, and we can show off sporrans and stuff. I've got a poster made and framed up. I've got tablecloths, and dangit I AM going to have an X Marks kilt ready to wear by Plesanton!

Alan H., in your post regarding the Campbell Games on June 17th, it appears you will have just a reception area in a corner of a clan tent. At the Pleasanton Games, an XMarks do-it-yourself demo would require a separate space.
Earlier I described going as an onlooker with an athletic competitor and his family, and enjoying the shade structure and chairs and ice chest contents he provided. I believe it also had to be removed each night, unless camping permission was obtained.
Do you have a large shade tent structure? or does someone else have one and willing to lend it?
I'll email my clan convener and ask about some of the procedure.
