The photos show my mates back home in New Zealand , they all live in Oamaru a large town in North Otago of the South Island. Oamaru is known as NZ capital of Victorian architecture and they hold a week long Victorian festival in mid Nov every year. If your are making a trip to NZ be sure to stop off in Oamaru for a few days as it's a great place.

Great photos. Thanks for the post. By the way - is there anyplace in New Zealand that isn't a great place? My wife (and I) would be glad to move there in a few years and leave Sunny Florida to the tourists, trailers and hurricanes. We camped around the South Island years back for a couple of weeks and did not want to leave.
Cheers! Bill

Two of the operators I work with are New Zelanders. Their names are celtic but they look typical samoan, (or Maurie?) anyway, they explaind that the English sent Scots and Irish to fight in New Zeland, and rather then fight, the soldiers married local women and assimilated. I dont do the story justice, and there is so much more to it, but I was fascinated by the cultural mix.

I am dying to go to New Zealand one of these days. It is on the top of my "must visit" list right now. Great photos.

Really nice photos. Thanks for posting them and don't be surprised if a bunch of Xmarksers show up some day.

Wondeful photos. Thanks for posting them. One of the men appears to have oak leaves in his hat (balmoral?). What does this signify?
