If $30 for kilt hose isn't breaking the bank, you could try the pipers hose that the British Shop carries. They come in black, stone, and white, and they are really long (made to be double-rolled at the cuff).

Although the main photo on the web makes the hose look like they're dark gray, they are really black, just as the title says (see photo below):
