    Cinnabar,

Great looking outfit and nice photo. One small thing, a think fur sporrans are more of a formal look. I think a simple leather one would go better with the sweater.

    Cheers

I don't have time for a formal review but I can drop a few comments here. FYI, the only other kilt I own is a SWK standard royal stewart:

Pros: Great price ($96 I think), fits great, much nicer straps and buckles than my SWK, nice medium weight fabric (about the weight of a medium weight suit; much, much lighter than my SWK but still hangs well IMHO)

Cons: Bottom and edges are hemmed, not selvedged; took about 4 weeks for delivery (but no weird postage fees despite coming from scotland)

The pleats are 1.5" deep and there are a lot of them (didn't count, sorry). I'm very happy with it and know that I can wear it most of the year except maybe in the deep of winter. My SWK is just too hot right now.

As for a simpler black leather sporran, can someone suggest one for <$80? I'm not a fan of the Rob Roy-style sporran (no offense to those of you who are) but would like a decent practical leather sporran for day use. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Cinnabar,

SWK has a nice simple black braided edge sporran for $35. I got one and thought it was a good deal. It is my everyday sporran. For price and service you just can't beat Stillwater kilts.

    Cheers

Thanks Panache, I'll look into it although it looks a little simple. I'd like to have a little splash of design. Yes, I am picky.
