    I saw the same belt at Sears..perfect for casual kilt wear....I dont accesorize in brown. but if i had a brown sporran this would be agreat choice.

    Welcome, Dave. I have that exact same belt. I would not try to pass it off as black, but it is the perfect dark brown casual kilt belt.

    Good recommendation.

    When I looked at those belts at the local Lowes - they seemed kinda "greasy" - I was afraid they would end up staining my kilts. I wonder if I was looking at a bad lot...

    I've had a few belts that were a bit greasy. If you put them between two towels or rags with some weights (I used plain old red bricks - nothing too heavy) to keep 'em pressed, and leave them on a concrete porch in the summertime, the extra oil comes right out and leaves them reasonably clean.
