In the US, they'll vary by state.
In my home state of Arizona, I can walk down the street with a sgian dubh in either stocking, a dirk on my belt, a broadsword on a baldric, a brace of pistols on that same baldric, and a Lochaber axe over my shoulder, and the only places I really can't go are pubs or bars that serve alcohol, banks or credit unions, or the courthouse. There are probably some other restrictions, but until very recently a number of the local grocery stores still had "Please check any weapons with the manager on duty" on their front doors.
That said, I don't have any pictures of my cutlery that I can post at the moment.

Here the law is no fixed blade knives, no blades over 3 inches, no spring action or switchblade knives of any kind.
