I almost always wear socks pushed down, even plain white socks with shorts, but I think more mass in the "scrunch" looks better with a kilt.

Sierra Trading Post gets pushed here quite often, and for good reason; their prices are rock bottom for quality merchandise. Their selection of mens socks is sure to have something for you in terms of color and weight, but they are woefully short on high-tops.
