    Heritage of Scotland

Ok, so I know the reviews of the kilts have been hit and miss for this company, but what about their other products. I am thinking about ordering a few clothing items and other accesories. Has anyone dealth with them and had a pleasant or negative experience? Again, I am not ordering a kilt, but other products. I know the Gold Brother stores have not been well received, so I thought I would put it out there for opinions.

They made me two kilts and a jacket. I couldn't be happier, frankly I wish we had the money to order another. Both kilts were spot on.
Email communication seems to be a bit haphazard, but that is close to a negative as you will get out of me. Phone calls were pleasant, representatives were very helpful.

    Thumbs down Gold Bros

When I was in Edinburgh last year, I walked through a couple of their stores. Some of the items were very nice, others notsomuch. The rule of thumb seemed to follow the "get what you pay for" standard.

When I won one of their auctions on eBay (a cheap skirt for my wife), they sent me the wrong size. When I wanted them to exchange it for the correct size, they said their policy was I had to return it at my cost, and then they'd send me the correct one "when they could". I filed a complaint with eBay, and they did not respond to it. EBay refunded my money.

I can't imagine anything they're selling (that is any good) can't be found somewhere else. If I was in the store, I might buy it. Through the mail? Not again...

Perfect advice, Daz. Having seen for myself the piles of tat stacked in their shops, I certainly would not wish to order from them on-line!

I've actually had a good experience with this company. I've purchased 3 casual kilts as they are CHEAP from them and are fine for casual wear. I've also purchased some hose, belt, buckle, shirts, ghillies. . . basically my whole outfit. They are quick to ship, and I haven't had to return anything so i can't help you there. They are quick to reply to any inquiries, and the free international shipping isn't bad (although i've paid for fedex since I live in Turkey and don't trust the mail system here).

Ok guys, far be it for me to tell you how to spend your money, but please, for the sake of humanity don't buy one!

Take one heritage of Scotland kilt and one "normal" kilt.

    Light two cigarettes.

Put one cigarette on the Heritage of Scotland Kilt and one on the "normal" kilt.

The normal kilt will create a hole, which you can repair.

The Heritage of Scotland kilt will go up in flames, almost instantly.

So, I would say no for the kilts.

Their other stuff is just as poor, I got a sporran off them, now I use my kilt for hillwalking (nay that should be running). It lasted one hill.

Thanks guys, but as stated in my original post, I was never thinking of ordering a kilt. I have a traditional Scottish made 16 oz wool kilt. I don't plan on going back down the evolutionary scale.

I was actually only thinking about ordering a few shirts.

Use the kilt as a benchmark.

Not up to standard on that, I'm not going to trust them to be up to standard on anything else.

I am sorry some of you had bad experiences with our company.

We have been under new management for a while now and we are really doing our best doing our best to repell for our past mistakes

Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions regarding Heritage of Scotland products or service.
