    Alan,

Two charming young lasses came up to me at DCB and inquired "where's Alan?" Laura and her friend send their regards. Next month I am hoping that my son will be joining we gentlemen in his first kilt. Perhaps I will get to meet the ellusive Motorman....

Congrats Alan! I hear the winds were pretty stiff and that there was a good chop happening out there. Must have been a wild ride.

Panache, bring you son! Next month I'll have my daughter with me as well.

It was a freakin' washing machine at the Gate, and blew the battens out of the sails. We coulddn't clear Mile Rock, so the skipper, to my somewhat nervous agreement, elected to go INSIDE Mile Rock. IT's not like there's not enough water in there, but if something godawful happens, there's not a lot of room to do anything about it before you're on the rocks. Anyway, we tacked out to clear Lands End, and then cracked off to head down Ocean Beach and down past Half Moon Bay and Davenport. The wind eased up a lot, halfway down Ocean Beach so it was actually a pretty mellow ride. The wind went really light about halfway across Monterey Bay, so we finished in Monterey at about 2:00 AM.

Och, I missed a hug from the lovelies, Damaris and Lora and Company! I shall have to make up for it next month!

Hope you all can come to the Campbell Games. X Marks the Scot will be hosted at the MacNaughton tent, like last year, so drop by the MacNaughtons!
