    Ebay jacket -- help needed

So, I just won an Argyle jacket on ebay, ships from Scotland. I haven't heard from the seller on shipping cost, and I am suspecting that he isn't happy with the ending price $63 ???

Any of you ebay addicts have any advice? I haven't paid yet, because I am waiting on a shipping cost. Anyone had a jacket sent from Scotland to US? I am guessing $25 to $45 depending on speed. Should I go ahead and pay via PayPal, then file a report if it doesn't ship?

Thanks for your help! XMarkers rule!

I agree, it's normal to wait for shipping costs BEFORE paying. Liking it is optional for the seller. If he didn't set a reserve or a high enough price, it's not your fault.

I agree, wait for a final invoice with shipping costs included, as well as the shipping method. Standard surface could take 4-6 weeks, so if you want it sooner, go for quicker, but more expensive, option. That is usually about a week.

    Uk shipping

My daughter, in Edinburgh, bought a jacket and kilt for my son for the upcoming nuptuals. Still waiting for the package...hope she scored the right sizes. The shipping was 46 pounds and odd pence. Should be here next week but now we know why they call it "Royal" mail....because they charge a "princely sum." But seriously, I have used Parcel2go.com and it was cheaper and faster than parcel force. Don't hit the paypal button until you get the final total costs and don't be afraid to check on the shipping costs yourself. Be mindful of the exchange rate.

I never bid without knowing the shipping cost. If it's not posted, I ask.

Thanks for the replies! I guess I should have asked before hand on the shipping. Sounds like the shipping might be more than the jacket, or they might try to jack the shipping way up to make me default, so they can re-list?

I will post pics if I get the jacket, and if it doesn't fit (quite likely!!!!) I will be posting it in "for sale"!!!!!!

I've won a couple of auctions for jackets from Scotland. As soon as the auction ended I clicked on the "Pay Now" button. This got me to a screen with a blank for shipping and a highlighted link to send the seller a message asking for the shipping cost. They usually reply pretty quickly. Both jackets cost about 15 British Pounds (that's 30 Canadian dollars) in postage. One of the sellers charged me exactly the postage to ship. The other charged (ahem!) 25 Pounds to ship- so he pocketed 10 Pounds for his trouble. Good luck, and may the jacket fit!
    I've kilt for less.
