Well, all I can say is that I have no problem understanding P1M's writing. Perhaps it's cause I write every so often as my southern accent sounds. Since a large part of southern speech patterns/accents were from Scots settlers that may be why. When we visited Scotland a couple of years ago we had no problem understanding anyone and we visited from Glasgow up through Inverness and points inbetween. My officer had been to Scotland the year before me and had lots of difficulty understanding people. Even while we were doing the tourist thing, people would hear our southern accents and talk to us more than they talked to the ones with the northern/standard american accent. There were areas that we saw the advertisements and other writing in the written Scots. Please, keep it up as I find it quite home like. Thanks.
YMOS,
Tony
