    SWK Saffron

The sun is finally shining this Sunday afternoon here in Germany. It has been a loooong wet spring! So I thought I would try to get some pics of my new SWK Saffron Heavyweight. (Click on this link: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/grafvilseck/my_photos then on kilt2

I got the kilt about a month ago and have been wearing it around the house. It is very heavy, over 4 pounds, but very comfortable. I've been trying to put together accessories that would go with it. I think dark green would be OK. I have a green polo shirt and lovat green socks. Dark green socks are on order and I think they will look better.

Today I put on a new light yellow shirt, cream socks. Also wearing a dark brown sporran I received Saturday from ebay. Reasonable price for a casual sporran and delivery was fast. I'm looking for a brown belt, but haven't found one I like yet, so I'm wearing a black belt. (I know it's not done, but just pretend it is brown)

The other thing I wanted to see is how it looked with socks pushed down. Many of you go that way for everyday or casual. Afraid it's not for me, however. I'm socks pulled up from now on! For those of you with the legs for it, go ahead, it just isn't me.

Any way, at the risk of seeing some of these on the Don't page, it was a fun hour, with my wife taking the pictures and providing commentary.

The yellow shirt looks washed out in the pics, but better in person. Also tried on a yellow sweater that is just a shade darker. I like the yellow/brown combination.

I'm probably going to wear some variant of this on Thursday to a casual barbeque, and on Friday, I'll dress up a little more for a military Hail and Farewell. Probably wear my Clan Hay kilt and Argyll jacket.

Thanks to all who post pictures, it's good to see what some of the possibilities are before spending a lot of money.

Good pics. I want a saffron kilt someday.

Any chance of a pic that shows the pleatwork?

    Cool pics.
If you're asking...something about that belt. I've found there a good colour choice in surplus web belts. That's what I wear, I've got two OD and black which seems to cover my needs. The OD would probably look nice with that beret picture and complete that military look. I'm beginning to sound like GQ.

A_Hay, the green polo looks great, but I am not sure about the lovat hose. Dakr green or even black would be better. Thanks for the pics. That is a realy nice looking color.

The kilt looks great, but the brown sporran clashes with the black belt. I also like the lovat hose and green polo combo better as the yellow gets washed out by the vibrance of the saffron (what a great colour).

You have a nice looking kilt collection. Is this another Hay tartan? http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/grafvi...9f.jpg&.src=ph as it looks different than the Hay I have seen in the past. I really like the colours though.

I used a color adjustment in photoshop and I think it made the red a little brighter than it really is in sunlight. The sett is Hay however. It matches up with other Hay tartan pieces I have (flag, ladies scarf, tie). I'll try to go back and adjust the color again. Thanks for bringing that up and for your advice/comments. I'm still learning what goes together.
