...and just to be silly (you mean he gets SILLIER?)
You could try one of these:

...it would also protect the bridge of your nose and spare you having to smear it with the zinc-oxide cream...I'd think about spray painting it white, though...the black might get a tad warm in hot sunlight...of course then you'd look like a Star Wars storm trooper and everybody would be aksing if the Star Wars Con was in town...

Extra hi-top Converse, I believe.

Derek,
A cap might go well with a Utilikilt, but not wth your tartan. There are so many better real hats to choose from than the ubiquitous sporting cap. Something with a large brim all around for bright sun and light complexion.
Keep the shades!

Me, I don't want to hardboil this egg of mine and a hat is the number one cure for baldness.
Let's see, if part of our kilt reason is practicality then why are we concerned with sunglasses and hats on bright sunny days?
You don't look out of place or posing. You look like you're going for a walk on a sunny day. Now, if it was night time, then I would assume you were Bono.
I wore a black Outback hat frequently until I saw a photo of myself and I didn't like it with most of my outfits. I got a hemp Outback Safari hat that goes better. However, there are times I wear the black one.
I keep getting gifts of ballcaps but being higher up the evolutionary scale, they don't sit on my head, so I avoid them.
