I think one of the best things to be overheard is...

    ...nothing at all.

Most likely means there's a fair chance that folks didn't notice the kilt; they saw it didn't care; they saw it and didn't know what to say; or whatever. I'm pleased enough to take the silence as a silent acceptance and carry on my merry way. ;)

    Well, that's their problem, isn't it? ;)

On topic, I was at a local park on the river this morning, enjoying a donut and reading a book at a picnic table. Was also watching the various folks go by on the bikepath. As I was got up and was walking back to the car, I saw a little feller (4 years old maybe?) tug on his mom's pants while pointing to me.

I heard a hushed exclamation from him, "A kilt!"

And this, in my black UK mocker.

I attended our annual summer artists fair, "Summerfair," last weekend in my olive UK original (and tropical shirt). I heard no comments of exceptional nature - most seemed not to notice - but what I thought was interesting is that the word "kilt" frequently floated out above all the other noises and conversations emanating from the crowd.

I was walking up a sidestreet to get to our parade route when I came across four college age girls at a corner. Then I hear, "Allright. hurry up, stand there, now move over. Hurry he's getting away. Go up the road a little more, hurry."

I was in a bit of a hurry to get where I was going but would have been glad to stop for a picture. They made it obvious that my kilt was the center of attention even if they didn't work up the nerve to ask for a pic. Hopefully they hung around for the parade where there were about a dozen kilted in my division.

Out on the town last night in Boston My Lovely girlfriend and I had finished a wonderful dinner at "The Ooak Room " (Very Nice) and quite kilt friendly. (I will post picks in the picture section as soon as i put them together.)
We were strolling to work off some of the perfectly aged steak we had just finished. We walked through a section of town with many bars, so the area was full of young folks heading in and out. A group of young men passed by and the first one emediatly broke into a sort of Mexican hat dance complete with him singing the tune.....and one of the otheres in a raised voice asked "Are you in the Navy?" I had to laugh. Thats all i could do.
    O'lay......
