    Might be a regional difference between Dumfries & Galloway and the Borders...

    Probably not though. I wore them to my own wedding here in Germany and to my sister's in Scotland - I'm not disputing they have a certain flair. [an ye kin end up oan the flair tae, thair gey slippy oan hotel cairpet...!]
    Maybe it's just with the proliferation of ghillie brogues, normal shoes stand out more?
