CT - next he'll be wearing a kimono and a kilt ... 
Actually, in Celeste Ray's Highland Heritage: Scottish Americans in the American South, there is a picture of a gent wearing a kilt with wooden shoes -- his mother was Belgian, so he wore the wooden shoes (not touristy ones) as a way to honour both sides of his family heritage. It really didn't look too bad.
