I wear sporrans probably a third of the time. Yes, they look traditional when I want that look, but I find them generally to be a nuisance, an annoyance, and uncomfortable. To my way of thinking, they are not much more functional than a necktie. Now, without one, I feel a greater degree of freedom.
I generally follow the gospel according to Hamish. It just makes sense.
