Actually, the main colors of that tartan are Black and Green, I wear a black shirt and charcoal or black hose w/ green flashes with it often.

Well Zardoz beat me to it, the kilt definitely has black, and Ham the green tones are not real, just each individual monitor. The shirt and hose are completely black. On my home PC they came out looking green, but at work they are definityely black, and in person they are black.

Ham, you will absolutely love this tartan. It tends to be one of my favorites. The material is indestructible, the tartan is great, and the accessory options are varied.

Cav, the USAK casuals are worn at the jeans waist instead of the natural waist, so there is no rise to the kilt. The belt loops (which I use on all my kilts) are not big enough for a trad belt. That being said, in reviewing the pic, I wish I had worn my other brown belt. It is slightly narrower, but a darker brown and a more traditional look, no metal incorporated.

And Dave, I do love the nitpicking. I may not always make a change based on it, but it gives me other perspectives. I really enjoy reading people's comments and seeing how they react to a given ensemble.

I withdraw my comments about the the black polo. It looked navy on my monitor. I stand by my hose suggestions. I just found out that my Grandmother's mother was Irish. I should look into the Irish National plaid, I think SWK carries one.

KWC, Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. I personally like the dark solid shirts and hose which makes the tartan kilt stand out.

May I suggest that the casual look is better with the kilt hose extended to the knee and then "Pushed" down rather than rolled down? I tend to agree with some others that the folded down tops cause them to look "thin".

For me a lot of the fun of wearing a kilt is experimenting with different looks.

    Best wishes,

    Tom
