A six-yard hipster in the Twenty-First Century tartan from Geoffrey, in 15/16 oz wool. A good-looking, modern and universal tartan (I'm not scottish), not too expensive, but in real wool (I always prefer natural fibers). It's still my only kilt.

4 yard Blackwatch (in the 8oz Canadian tartan) from Bear kilts. I got it after seeing an article in the local paper about a new local kiltmaker. I checked out his site and saw that his 4 yard kilts were going for $80 cdn. I had always wanted a kilt, so I ordered one up. I really wanted Maple Leaf, but my son already had a BW kilt so I got the matching one.

It was one of Bear's earlier kilts, and I don't wear it anywhere but the house now.

After that I ordered a 4 yard MacKenzie Bear, a 8 yard MacKenzie Canada Kilt (sold), a 8 yard Royal Stewart from Bear (sold) and than finally the best of all my kilts..........the 8 yard 16 oz traditional in the Ancient Watson tartan.

A kahki Amerikilt purchased at a highland games. I liked the styling the pocket and the cloth sporran and the fact that I could get it immediately thereby avoiding the pain of jonesing. I have since purchased a couple of tartans and I like them more but this is still a favorite when the weather gets hot.

Hay Modern ordered at Richmond Highland Games from Clansman Knitwear. Ordered in October, promised in 16 weeks, and received in about 30. This was before I knew anything about X Marks the Scot. I was wary of measuring myself so did not look on the web.

Have to say the kilt was worth the wait. Good fit and finish. I have 3 more now and material on order for the X Marks the Scot Tartan.

Mine was a SportKilt black watch. I sold it on ebay just a couple months later. I was disappointed to find Stillwaterkilts only weeks after I'd ordered, to see that SWK had kilts for about the same price that were much better.

My first was a tan original Utilikilt. As I've lost a little weight I don't wear that one anymore (but saving in case I go up again). That arrived last July. Since then I've added 7 more (mix of trad & non-trad) including the XMarks on order from Matt.

Got my first kilt, a tan twill Original Utilikilt, in August 2003, because of -
    1. my family heritage
    2. it was something different & unique (like me)
    3. the price was easier to swallow than a trad tank
    4. company had stopped allowing shorts in the middle of Summer
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

Red Mackintosh, made by a local kiltmaker, 32 years ago. My dad wears it now.
