I'm not big on the big X across the backside, but as always Hamish makes it look good.

I do kind of like the simple tartan pattern on the front. It's got a good color.

Many thanks, Mike, but don't go too far away. No.61 is due next week - my Ireland's National semi-traditional from Rocky at USA Kilts is winging its way over here as I tap at this keyboard.

Then there are two, probably three but four if I am lucky, kilts that will be delivered in late July or early August.

(Because it does not count, I will not mention the new blue/brown mix tweed Argyll jacket that should also be arriving next week - heck, it might even be here tomorrow! It's almost unique ....... only sufficient material was woven (using up some leftover yarns) for two such jackets - Howie at TFCK has the first one.

    No, I won't mention that! )

As always Ham - you are the perfect kilted gentleman. The kilt is beautiful and the video is great. I suspect HRH could learn a thing or two from you!

    Only disappointment... no dialogue???????

It is part of the weave, and appears only on the outward facing side of each pleat so that when the pleats hang still, or when the kilt is laid flat, the edges of the 'Saltire' are perfectly aligned. If the design was woven continuously across the fabric, the edges would be zigzagged once it was pleated!

It is very cleverly executed and, I suppose, the sole supplying mill has the rights to it very tightly sewn up! Oh, I just could not resist that one!!

Congratulations, Hamish, on the latest addition to your kilt kollection. Wow, 5 dozen kilts!

Loved the video. The kilt looks great &, as always, you wear it well (cue up Rod Stewart). Fine walking stick, too.

I'd have to agree with DaveDove, though. For as many folks have said they've wanted to kick my butt, putting a big X on my backside is probably not a good idea.

Thanks Rob. No, the snakeskin is proving to be a problem for Howie; at the moment he cannot track down sufficient skins that have a good colour match. This one looks like a long-tern jonesing, but I am a patient man!

Too kind, Phil. I did that clip this morning as an experiment really, purposely keeping it short. I thought, if I can get that to work, then I can do another of similar length on the 'sweeping'! It DOES work, but I've not had time today to take it to the next stage - will do so tomorrow!
