Btw...it's good to see Hamish wearing brown leather with a blue outfit
I was wondering about this (XMarks kilt on my mind of course).

Why do these photos make me think of the phrase "nattily-attired gentlemen"? OH, of course…

    Looking very good, guys!

Two points arise from that Robin:

    1) it can only work when the dress is 'casual' (brown leather accessories are casual, whilst black are formal). Also,

    2) Many blue tartans contain quite a lot of black. In such cases, brown accessories might not work, even casually. My suit is plain, unadulterated blue which means I can/do wear either brown or black accessories with it.

Must admit, I have worn only black with my X Marks kilt thus far!

Well, Ron. Both you and Dave know where to go for one! Just choose a fabric and Howie will do the rest!!

Well, I tentatively have plans to be in Maastricht and Utrecht in either November or December. I could always divert to The Hague for a kilted pint!

Hopefully, I will be able to afford (time and money) to stay and explore Holland, and maybe spend a couple of days in Scotland and the U.K. also.

That's it! That picture of two fabulous solid color kilts just sealed the deal. I'm getting a solid colored kilt! Hmm, what color/s to get now.

I agree when there's also black in the tartan and for dress occasions, but both black and (navy)blue are "cold" colours, so I think it looks very nice to wear brown leather with a dominant blue kilt...to add some "warmth" to the outfit....casual.
Besides...brown leather looks awesome with oatmeal
