Great video, Hamish. I often do the same thing, but I also do it "handless", with a slight lean foreward as I start to bend my knees, lowering the bottom of the pleats below the seat of the chair, then sitting and sliding back. It works better with kilts that have a high "swish factor" over those made of stiffer material.

I also use that method, Nick, especially when both hands are occupied - as at a party when you have a glass of wine in one hand and a plate of food in the other!!
