I have two pair of them—one leather, one nylon. It's to d*** hot here to wear the black leather ghillies during the summer. They are great. I have no doubt that they are modern ghillies.

Excellent sandals! I've owned mine about a year and a half. I have worn them with hose (sorry PM1) at an outdoor sword tournament and they worked great and got nothing but positive comments. The foot bed does need to be washed regularly if you wear them without socks, at least mine do. They are supposed to have an anti-microbial footbed but they definately develop an odor problem unless you wash them.

I've got a very similar pair (at Walmart no less) and they look great with the kilt, and are super comfy.

You WILL get some odd tan lines on your feet though, little rectangles of tan interspersed with patches of white.

    Modern gillies, definately.

Crap, now something else I need to find and buy!
I wonder if Wally World's are any good or if the "real" brand is a better and more economical buy in the loog run?

so, are you saying only Hamish can wear sandals and hose with a kilt, with him being a Doctor of Kilt Aquisition?
