    Good look'n getup....

I know that heritageofscotland.com has had some bad reviews...but I was looking on their website today and they have some really sharp kilt outfits....
    The Saltire

    Argyle (I believe)

    Tweed

I'm thinking of maybe taking a risk and going with one of these...the prices are pretty good too....any thoughts?

Based on the previous reviews of this company, I would think you would be throwing your money away. Jhiggins apparently has some great prices on stuff, and there are some other great deals to be had from reputable retailers.

I would likely avoid ordering anything of substantial value from these guys.

    Check out:
    www.tartanweb.com
    www.kiltstore.net
    http://www.kilts.com/
for starters, also check out some of the deals at these places:
    http://www.burnetts-struth.com/sale_items.asp
http://www.scottishclansman.com/Readymade.html (not many good reviews here either)

The deals are out there on affordable good quality products, it's just a matter of finding them.

I can say from experience you get a decent deal from J Higgins and the service is very good.

    Mattg,

Another place I was directed to by a friend (but haven't used myself) is
www.stjamesbagpipes.com The prices they have on jackets is pretty good and might be worth looking into.

    Cheers

I know I'm new here... but I haven't seen any of the reviews on Heritageofscotland. They're actually who I ordered my Henderson kilt from. Anyone got a link to old conversations about them??? I received my kilt from them in about a month's time.

    Matt,

I bought mine through the Kilt Store but that is not who I would recommend.
I got hammered with a tariff. I have looked around and
while the Tartan Museum isn't the cheapest, they are quite competitive.

I got my jacket from Heritage, top quality, great service. I asked them not to ship with their preferred shipper, FedX, and they complied. I requested a return call one afternoon at 4 pm our time, they came through. I also have two kilts from them, Angus tartan, 8 yard, hand made and a 5 yarder in Cameron.

Guys, they own several shops and they offer something at almost every price point, not really a bad strategy for that type operation. And, not all of there low end stuff is junk. I have seen some of their production casual kilts and they were very nice for the price.

I would not hesitate to order again.

I have to disagree. I bought a kilt from Heritage and am very happy with it. I've looked at the J.Higgins site and found them quite pricey.
