The tartan is Geoffrey (Tailor)'s corporate 'Thistle Dubh'. I have the grey version of it. Nice!
You're welcome, Hamish. To my eye the pictured kilts, while clearly still kilts (especially the tartan one), worn with a sporran, have a wonderful warm-weather-appropriate feel to them, much like a sarong.
Because of the way I prefer to wear my kilts though, I find that one problem with living in southern California is the limited kilt-wearing season; it's usually just too warm here. Now, if I just had a torso and gams like those fellows in the pictures, well ... it's nice to dream. I might consider a light weight, low-rise kilt like the ones pictured, but in all honesty I'm somewhat the purist, so who knows.
Oh, and by the way, speaking of Howie and 21st Century, who's that fellow drinking champagne from a Styrofoam cup?
Thank you,
Scott Gilmore

I know!! (Blushing) It's a dreadful photo. Howie has much better ones he could have used on his website. It was taken in London's Hyde Park on a balmy summer evening last year after we'd enjoyed a game of frisbee (yes, ME!) Who is it? Well, that's my pal Jim on the right with Howie on the left (in a silk denim kilt!!).

It is nothing of the kind. You're all clearly having fun and you look great doing so. Wish I'd been there.

Then your kilt is perfectly appropriate for this thread.

That Howie gets around. You can't swing a dead cat without seeing a picture of him muggin' for the camera sporting some fancy kilt. Seems like a nice guy.
Thank you,

I have a Black Watch semi-trad from USAK, and I have finally decided to take the easy route out and go with oatmeal color hose (figured it would go well with my other three kilts). My problem now is what type of material I should start looking into for the hose (I want to get something that I can actually wear without my feet soaking in sweat).
Also, while I am on the subject of footwear, I was going to buy a pair of black all-leather oxfords but I also want a more "comfortable" pair of shoes to wear around on a regular basis. Any suggestions?

potted plant duty is very important...it might save your life someday!

Hem, no kilt belt, but a kilt pin. (After I looked at the companion first)
Odd combo.
