Never seen a fringe on the hemline but almost all kilts have a fringe down the right-hand edge of the apron. Indeed when I went to collect my new Spirit of Scotland a few weeks ago wearing my Dark Island 5-yard which has a double fringe on the apron and which I had bought over the net, our local kiltmaker pointed out that all his kilts are TRIPLE fringed!
