Belmont (CA) Kilt Night - This Friday!!!
Details, map and driving directions at http://www.kiltday.com/kiltnight.htm
SAVE THE DATE: Last Friday, Monthly - Belmont Kilt Night in SF Bay Area!
Calling all guys in kilts (traditional tartan kilts, home-made kilts, Utilikilts, any darned kilt!)... That's right, mark your calendars for the LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH... time for the monthly kilt mixer in Belmont! Friday, June 30th, 2006 from 5 pm on. Rain-or-Shine. Most of the kilt crew starts trickling in around 7 pm, although no doubt that Tim will be there at 5... first in line for a cold brew and checking out the opening band.
Lots of cool singles and couples. No stress meet-and-greet with cool, fun loving, people in a casual, relaxing, atmosphere. No cover charge! Live music, great hot food at really decent prices, indoor and outdoor seating with cozy propane heat lamps and couches inside & outside! Come with plans to have fun! Bring a friend (or two)!
No-host bar. $3 (16 oz.) award-winning microbrews and small batch whiskies. Don't miss their fantastic "Full Boar Scotch Ale" as well as about a 1/2 dozen other great draft selections!
Put on your kilt and come join the fun! The proprietors will be expecting us! This is our 9th event at this location! If we get advance notice on the bands that will be playing, we will be sure to post info. here!
Devil's Canyon Brewing Company: 111 Industrial Way #7, Belmont CA 94002 [WEBSITE]
WARNING: This place can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so pay attention; It is located in the north/east corner of the Harbor Business Center, right off of Harbor Blvd exit from S/B Hwy. 101, driveway just east of Industrial. It can be a bit difficult to find the first time. Just copy down the detailed directions from the link above and you'll find it! If in doubt, park in the lot and listen for the music!
They are open to the public just one night per month. They call the event "Beer Friday." Their doors open at 5 pm and things tend wrap up between 11 pm and midnight. We have no affiliation with the brewing company, it is just a convenient location on the Peninsula and a great place to hold a casual mixer in a central location.
All of the regulars hope to see you there!

Motorman4Life,
The Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and I will be there. Hopefully with Sinbad and our daughter as well. By the by, the wonderful microbrews are now $3 (and worth every cent, especially the Full Boar Scotch Ale).
Hope to see all the gang there!
Cheers

Yes, the beers went up a buck and are larger (going from 12 to 16 oz.)... this means fewer trips to the beer line!!!!
Bands announced for this week are NOVA (formerly Rubber Room) http://www.rubberoom.com and the ever-popular Jack Aces! http://www.thejackaces.com
I am not familiar with NOVA but I can tell you the Jack Aces are worth hanging out for. The crank out some excellent classic rock covers from The Beach Boys and The Beatles, Clapton and The Doors to The Rolling Stones and ZZ Top!
Here is a short list of just a few of The Jack Aces' awesome covers:
BACK IN THE USSR
BORN TO BE WILD
BREAKDOWN
BROWN EYED GIRL
BROWN SUGAR
CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF YOUR LOVE
CHINA GROVE
CROSSROADS
DAY TRIPPER
DESPERADO
DON’T WORRY BABY
FOLSOM PRISON BLUES
FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH
GIVE ME ONE REASON
HARD TO HANDLE
HONKY TONK WOMAN
HURTS SO BAD
HURTS SO GOOD
I CAN'T GET NO (SATISFACTION)
I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE
I SAW HER STANDING THERE
From their website, NOVA seems tlo have a similar flavor, with manybe a wee-bit more funk:
Brickhouse - The Commodores
Smooth - Santana
Red House - Jimi Hendrix
Sharped Dressed Man - ZZ Top
Peaceful Easy Feeling- Eagles
Walk This Way- AeroSmith
Don't miss it!

Okay, in case you are not a 107.7 THE BONE listener, I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. They are hosting one of their "BONE HOMETOWN" events at St. James Gate Irish Pub in Belmont from 3 pm to 7 pm on THIS FRIDAY. What Luck!!!!
CLICK HERE FOR BONE HOMETOWN WEBPAGE
They have 2 great bands slated: The Substitutes from 3 to 5 pm and Powerage from 5 to 7 pm!
St. James Gate is just down the street from Devil's Canyon Brewery... [MAP] just go due-west on Harbor and before you reach El Camino Real (just before the RXR, I believe), make a left on Old County Road and it is right there. It is actually within easy walking distance, so you may want to come early and park on Industrial at Harbor, then get your fill of $1.07 beer and appitizer specials before walking over to Devil's Canyon around 7 pm.
Just a thought. If you have the day free or if you are in the neighborhod early. I'm going to be getting off work at 6 pm, so I'm going to try to catch the last band at St. James Gate (Awesome AC/DC tribute band, PowerAge, on from 5 to 7pm) and then take my buzz over to our regular event at DCB.
