I've stayed dry here in Frederick, but we have had the rain!
I heard Monday that the federal government in DC was on unsceduled leave because of the flooding, mainly because some of the trains couldn't make it down the tracks.

I am so sorry to hear about the flooding. I'm just thankful that our home and our rental property are both on high ground. But that night we had dinner with friends out in Gaithersburg and had to be detoured 4 times on our way home because roads that we usually used had been flooded out. And these were roads that have never been flooded during my entire 12 years in this area!
I can't believe the amount of rain that came down. It was horrible. Thankfully it's been sunny today.
If you need any help, let me know.

I'm near Binghamton, NY. 15,000+ people evacuated (including a hospital) and large sections of the city under water. Slightly east of here a bridge on I-88 collapsed, killing two truck drivers. Personally, I'm on high ground and OK, except for about 2 inches in my basement and a swampy yard...!

I am heading down this morning, Woodsheal. BCC has been closed for two days, and I fear that our storage facility on Front St. is under water, or was under water....
I have to run to the office, since traffic is allowed in, and might as well see if I can check out my storage situation.......

Just got back from the upper Front St. area, and it looked OK. I hope your storage escaped damage...!

The news this morning said we in Frederick County had 4 deaths (I believe) attributed to flood waters.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss but thankful that you and yours are alright. Nature will have her way everytime. In our area we are now in the 6 months hurricane season cycle hoping to be spared one more time but making the usual plans for either bracing ourselves or "bugging out". Two blocks to the oceans edge and just a few feet above keeps us tuned in to the weather reports.
Best of luck getting everything back in order.
Cheers! Bill
