New UK Corduroy, pic and thoughts

I really like my tan cord UK; I wear it more than any of the others I have. If you think it feels good now, wait until after a few washes when the fabric is broken in.

Hamish, the red cords are pretty red but not terribly bright; think slightly faded Royal Stewart. Its one of those colors that not many people could wear well, but with the right skin tone it looks smashing.

And Ham, it appears to me that the red is VERY RED!

As has already been said the red is nothing but RED. It would be perfect to wear during a Red Dress Run.

I am well aware of their fine qualities, but I think it is the import costs into the UK from the USA that has put me off ordering one.

Just a thought Ham, but we come over the UK twice a year to see family (live in Warrington and Blackpool). If we had enough lead time and we could coordinate things, we could always bring your latest US kilt over with us and post it in the UK.

In fact, we are flying over on Sunday. We will have a week in the UK, Blackpool, Hunstanton and Warrington and then over to Spain for two weeks holiday. Too late to do anything this trip, but perhaps next time.

I'm wondering about taking the UK cord to Spain. Would it be a first UK on the Costa Blanca?

Can anyone describe the red colour accurately for me please?

I have been wondering that myself. I am finally working a UK show this weekend (Origins in Columbus OH) , so hopefully will have one to see. I recently bought (e-bay - Mar) one of the limited run dark brown ones they did last summer before introducing the line. It is the softest, most comfortable UK I own. The only thing that keeps it from being perfect is I want it with the Workman's style pockets (been begging Steve for over a year).

I am hoping that once I see them in person the red or blue will not be as bad as they look on the computer because I could really do with another of these cords. Tan is out, I always stained kakhi pants, and never wore the one tan UK I briefly had (ended up selling to Sav - remember Sav - what happened to Sav).

If I remember to take my camera I'll try and get a pic with a couple of other kilts in frame as well so there is a color reference.

Wore it to the office at the university. Not a soul commented! Must be used to me in a kilt.

Umm....do you wear it on non-casual days at the university? Are universities okay with kilts??

I haven't got a denim UK so I can't comment on the warmth issue.

The university is quite relaxed about dress. I'm a prof, so we don't have the same kind of dress codes as admin folk. I have received many favorable comments about my tartan kilts. The students love it. I can also use it in classses to talk about stereotypes and social construction of gender through clothes . . . all that kind of good stuff!
