Ron,
Who are you buying new Kilts for? Certainly not yourself, and how did you get my measurements?

Yep, and you just did it for me. Just put in an E-order for one of those nylon, cargo sporrans. I've been eyeing that thing since before I found Xmarks. I was just unsure as it seemed to cool to be true... I even put their little video of the guy pulling the pistola out of it on my myspace page...haha. Anyhow, I've seen lots of good reviews on it and then your last comment finally did me in. I can't wait to get it. We leave for the honeymoon the week after next. And knowing the shipping practices of Jerry and SWK, I'll have it in middle of next week. And, I will have the luxury of it on the honeymoon. (I plan to wear my two kilts as many days as possible out of the 1.5-2 weeks we'll be gone.) Man, I need some more kilts! I went ahead and picked up another pair of his wool blend hose. I liked the first pair I got, good quality for the price. I'm even wearing them for the wedding. And, I happened to find his last pair of Nightstalker flashes to go with my standard kilt.

Now if we can just get Jerry to have them made up in brown too....
Funny how an easy to drive sporran became the gateway to tartan kilts.
Nothing to pull, latch, fumble with...just good ol' zippers and velcro. Even an olde sott like me can figure it out and work it on the far side of my massive gut in the belly shadows.

Hey Ron...
Yes, those are the tartans you ordered. Ramsay, Scottish National, Prince of Wales and Douglas.
TTB...
You can wear the kilt EITHER way. Up at the natural waist or lower like a pair of jeans. The main thing is to take the LENGTH measurement from the top of where you WANT to wear it to the middle of the knee.
Ron again...
I'm not sure what UK does with their belt loops, but if they do the same as us, I'd guess they were first since they've been around longer. We put the loops at the edges of the front apron to make it look a LITTLE more traditional and to keep the open end of the apron from drooping if the kilt was a little too big. It's a simple design that works.

You might be an XMarker if you have your own set of swatch books from each of the mills . . . (and you take them with you in the event that you visit your kiltmaker in person).
