X MARKS CON II The Events
So to my way of thinking I'm going to need help. Planning events and such First events you would like too take part in. A Fashion Show Having met some of you guys this could be fun. The thing that srikes me the best is a kilted golf tournament. Can you see 30 or 40 half bombed kilties roaming the fairways and greens? I'm going to break this up into sections so that I can keep count. So if you would Events only Here!!

who you calling "half-bombed"...there are quite a number of professionals in this here rabble!!
oh..the event...
be sure to recruit a wee rabble o' mini-kilted "kilt inspectors" to ensure proper kilted dress...I'd be more than happy to provide shirts for said "kilt inspectors" should this take place..

It's highly doubtful I could make the trip, but I am certainly looking at ways to come up with the cash. If I can, I'd definitely be up for kilted golf. I shoot in the upper 80s to mid 90s from the senior tees on my home course. I can just see a bunch of kilties sweeping pleats everytime they get in and out of a golf cart.

You use a cart?
You must be playing 18

I used to walk as many as 36 holes in a day. Now with "Ole Arthur" (arthritus) biting my knees, I can manage only 18 with a cart, and way too much Ibuprophren.

OK Golfing will be one of the events! What else? Exhibtors? Scotch tasting? IDEAS guys!
Golf is a beautiful walk spoiled by the antics of a little white ball.

Aye, so true...some of us have had MORE than our fill and have sobered up.
Add to the list of possible events the first ever X Marks the Scot AA meeting....or Kilted AA meeting to avoid affiation.
First timers welcome.

Amazingly sober to the bewilderment of those who knew him in his glory days of swilling booze.

If this is the Las Vegas get-together we're discussing for next year, you MUST include a rabble visit to the Tilted Kilt pub.

I have been wondering what this is all about! Yes, if it IS a Las Vegas get-together next year, maybe, just maybe I could make that my 2007 overseas trip!
The prospect of spending a few days in brash, commercialised, Las Vegas is not really my cup of tea - nor have I ever knowingly set foot on a golf course (I lie! I have walked on the course at St.Andrews!) - but such an opportunity of meeting up with a phallanx of fellow X Markers on that side of the pond, might be too valuable to miss.
Sorry, I have obviously missed out on a lot here. Do we have dates confirmed?

I'll be over in Las Vegas for a conference first week of August and will be happy to do any advance scouting...particularly the Tilted Kilt....hope they serve chow too.
And, I have the same interest in golf that Ham does. My only golfing experience has been maning the keg at the 9th hole on company outings back in my boozing days.
