    Kilt No.62 has arrived!

    Hi guys!
Sorry I have not been around for a day or two - have been experiencing more technical glitches with 'old faithful' here (I WISH I knew more about computers and what makes them not work!) I still cannot manipulate (ie: crop) my photos, but I thought one or two of you might be interested to see Kilt No.62 in the Kilt Kollection, which arrived yesterday (Friday) - a clear week ahead of schedule!

The kilt is in the Brittany National tartan, is a full 8 yarder in 13oz wool, is superbly tailored and fits like a glove. My thanks and congratulations go to Richard at 'La Maison du Kilt' in Paris.

Quite unusually for me, I have had some difficulty is colour co-ordinating this tartan from my existing stock of shirts, ties, flashes, etc.! I find I do not have very close matches for either the blue or the green stripes in the tartan and am obviously having to go to shopping as soon as possible! As you will see, in both casual and semi-formal modes I have resorted to accessorising with white, which is not too bad I think (although I really do not like white hose, as you know!). The alternative would have been black, which would have been far too heavy in appearance. Anyway, the important thing is for you to see the kilt, and that magnificent Breton kilt pin!

Oh, by the way, Photobucket does not seem to be re-sizing my photos at the moment - just another glitch I don't understand!

That is a beautiful tartan, Ham. That is a stunning kilt pin. I didn't realize just how good it looks until seeing on these excellent photos. My complements on the well shined boots in the casual photo, and the well shined shoes in the dress photo.

A fine tartan indeed Ham. I'm anxious to see their other tartan. The name escapes me now. THe one they snuck the swatch in with your kilt pin? Was it "Brittany Walking?" That sounds right... Anyhow, I'm looking forward to seeing that. That tartan is so warm.

Very, very nice! If you can only find a shirt which matches that green stripe, that would really set it off!

Wonderful kilt Hamish - and not bad with white, but I'm sure you're just a short shopping trip away from color coordinated perfection!

Ham, I can see your dilemna. A striking tartan, but the colors are not part of the normal pallette of tartans. The formal look works very well with the Gray jacket and green tie, but I can feel your pain in trying to put together an informal outfit. I am reticent to wear a white shirt for informal occasions for the same reasons. However, I think a Carolina blue shirt (check the UNC web site) would be smashing. It looks like it would match that tartan perfectly. If not, based on the pic, I would think that an oatmeal shirt and hose would match well with the tartan where the black and white cross. It is a minor color, but very apparent.
