    Greetings All,

Just wanted to report back that I attended the Belmont Kilt night (not a huge challenge there, but still very much an otherwise non-kilted gathering). More significantly, today I proudly wore it while marching with my wife's real estate company's contingent in the local small town 4th of July parade.

Received one wolf whistle on the way there, which I'll take as a compliment, whether it was meant as one or not, and otherwise any comments were either favorable, or of the politely curious variety. Even heard one older gentlemenan (in his 60's perhaps) explaining to someone that it was a UK from Seattle!

I'll try to post pics when they are developed. My wife, while not enthusiastic, has taken a live and let live approach to the kilt. My seven year old daughter actually is the most scandalised, but I think she's getting more used to be seen in public with me.

    Thanks for the support.

    Best regards,

    Jake

    Jake -

These are my thoughts on the whole matter of kilts:

    1. The older gentleman telling someone that it was a UK from Seattle means that these things are in the public knowledge - people have seen them and know about them.
    2. If they are more comfortable that trousers or shorts....then why shouldn't we wear them all the time regardless of what we are doing?
    3. If all the men in the world look out the window and wait until everyone else is wearing them before they venture out then it will just never happen.

I don't have my first UK yet but I'm hoping to be out in public with it soon.

    Welcome!

Next wearing will be our neighborhood block party this weekend. If any of my suburban peers are scandalized, I would expect they'll keep it to themselves. I'll let you know if I get any particularly interesting comments.

    Best regards,

    Jake
