Glad to see you up & around! The Rocky Knob area has some great trails. I also like the hiking around Grandfather and Table Rock, and the Linville Gorge is good, too.

That's a fat rattler...did you eat her? They be delicious. Most folks will cringe at the thought, but if they risk a taste they'll fight you for every last morsel.
For the uninitiatied - a plump rattler tastes like a combination of pepperoini and chicken when fried up.

Nah...she was fat 'cause she was full of babies. Timbers are protected in NC, so collecting them for any reason is a no-no. They're not too common, so I'm more worried about ants than snakes when I nap.

I was asking about you to one of my friends that works at the college, and at first he didn't seem to know who you were when he asked me if I was talking about "kiltman". LOL So at least around Montreat College campus you have been elevated to super hero status...when in danger on the trails, call kiltman!
Oh, and tell Patrick that I'm digging the tie-dye and tartan combo!
