Who's going X MARKS CONVENTION

I thihnk that Alan has a point. Trying to tie this up for 100+ people is going to take a tremendous amount of work. Much better to start small and have it be bigger than the other way. And frankly, I would not be able to commit this far out, even if we had firm dates. I know that the planning has to be done early, but it makes it difficult to commit to something this far out.

Speaking for myself & my wife, we're interested. Lost Wages is easily reached from Phoenix. I really like the idea of coinciding any convention with the LV Highland Games in April. Maybe we could even set up an X Marks booth at the Games & display the X Marks kilt, t-shirt, kilt pin. Bet we'd get a number of new members on the forum. Or a 3-day weekend convention could be incorporated with National Tartan Day (Friday, 6 April 2007).

Only date I'm booked in March or April for DJing, at this point, is St Patrick's Day (Saturday, 17 March 2007), but my calendar will start filling up before too long, so if we're gonna do this, I hope we settle on a firm date fairly soon so I can reserve that weekend.

As Alan H. suggests, we should consider picking one centrally located hotel as a base. My suggestion would be to choose one of the hotels across from Caesar's Palace, such as Bally's, Barbary Coast, Harrah's, Imperial Palace, or the Flamingo. You can walk to pretty much all the rest of the good casinos from there.

I know these two are in (my gal and I). If i can spend two weeks chasing football, beer and brats, my lady and I can certainly make a weekend get away to hang with the kilted rabble.

Did I mention this a great way to acquire more kilts and accessories?

Two of us are ready to go. Always have fun in Las vegas. Only conflict would be Feb 3 through 9 - Parachute Industry Association conference in Reno.

My wife and I lived in Las Vegas for years and personally I find it to be very boring, it's one of those 'you have to have been there' to understand things. You can count us in, the only problem I can foresee is that I have to have two surgeries within the next year about six months apart but when a definite date is set for the gathering I can say for sure.
