I purchased a new car in May and for the first time I ordered it in black. Black has a habit of showing dust and dirt much more than most other colors. I went out one morning to find written across the hood in the dust; "WASH ME" in letters about 6" high, my neighbor told me that he had seen another neighbor's teen age son do it not five minutes before I left my house. I washed my car that same day and when it was clean and dry it still read "WASH ME" in scratches left by the punk's finger as he dragged his finger through the dust and marred the finish.
Needless to say, that punk and his father first used rubbing compound and then about three coats of good wax, Turtle Wax, to get the hood back to looking new again. I gave the father a choice, either he restore it to new looking or I was going to take it and have it done professionally and present him with the bill. It took them the better part of a saturday. I doubt that punk will ever try that again.
Point is, sometimes this ain't funny or considered "art" but I do understand the point of this 'window art'.
Chris.
