I've not lost any, but my wife will not be seen in public with me while kilted, and she is fighting tooth and nail to get me to give up the kilt...

Have never lost any friends through kilt wearing; gained some through this forum; and my wife encourages me to wear the kilt.

I have yet to loose any friend over my kilt wearing. I did make few more friends since the day I started wearing the kilt.

If friends fall out with you because you wear the kilt -then they were not friends to start with. I have not lost any friends yet?

Just the opposite! My friends have come to view the kilt as practicle garment and a source of pride. Also, I have gained MANY new friends because of the kilt. People can't help but come up and ask questions and from that aquaintances and friendships have grown.

Never happend. I've actually gained many new ones because of it. Plus, women everywhere want to be friends with a kilted gentleman.

Same here! My wife begs me not to wear it...she was fairly ok with it at first, but the more I wear it the more she dislikes it. I'm hoping that if I just keep wearing she'll give up and be ok

I have not lost any friends, my wife and children (all grown) approve of my kilt wearing, as does my mother-in-law. As has been said, if friends stop being friends over the kilt they were not real friends to begin with.

I have not lost any. I have some who just don't get it, but they accept the fact that I pretty much do as I please.

He and I were "talking" through email this week where you really can't tell when someone is kidding and I took some of his comments seriously....that were not....and I flew off the handle and sent some "mean" emails and then I never heard from him after that.
I have known him since 1968 and I knew what that meant - he HATES discussing sensitive topics through email for just that reason - he kids around, I take him seriously, and it's downhill from there.
We talked today and he doesn't understand it, he would never do it, but he respects the fact that I'm just having fun in my own way. Then in the same breath he says if you are doing this why don't you go regimental so you can REALLY enjoy yourself....
