Has anyone lost friends over kilt wearing? Has anyone you know been so closed-minded that they just said I can't deal with this and our friendship is over? I'm just curious.....
Nope, hasn't happened.
Not only have I not lost friends, I've got several of my friends to buy (and, of course, wear) a kilt of their own. But then, I live in Seattle, home of the Utilikilt.
I've not lost any, but my wife will not be seen in public with me while kilted, and she is fighting tooth and nail to get me to give up the kilt...
Have never lost any friends through kilt wearing; gained some through this forum; and my wife encourages me to wear the kilt.

I have yet to loose any friend over my kilt wearing. I did make few more friends since the day I started wearing the kilt.
If friends fall out with you because you wear the kilt -then they were not friends to start with. I have not lost any friends yet?
Just the opposite! My friends have come to view the kilt as practicle garment and a source of pride. Also, I have gained MANY new friends because of the kilt. People can't help but come up and ask questions and from that aquaintances and friendships have grown. -Tim
Never happend. I've actually gained many new ones because of it. Plus, women everywhere want to be friends with a kilted gentleman.
Like many of the others I have not lost friends, but have gained friends. I'm also fortunate in that my wife fully supports me in wearing a kilt as my everyday attire - she will go with me anywhere while I am kilted. Darrell
