Welcome to XMarks, and congratulations on your first kilt purchase. I have a black UK Mocker as well, and like it very much.

    Jim -

Welcome from Phoenix! I only have one UK original and I love it. I only received my kilt a little under a week ago but I have been posting here since I ordered it. I switched my order so I could get something in stock and I STILL felt it took way too long to get it. I'm not at all patient either.

Now I have three more kilts on order because I enjoy them so much but since I have one kilt already I'm not that concerned about when they will get here. Well....as long as they get here soon....

We have a few members in the Phoenix area and one in Page, AZ. Where in the state are you if I may ask? Will you be at the Highland Games in Flagstaff on Saturday and Sunday? Originally I was just going to be there for one day but my stay has been extended to two.

Welcome aboard, Flying Scotsman. Whether or not you are a pure scot you will be welcome to wear a kilt. I have a model of the Flying Scotsman locomotive and been trying to get a ride behind the real one which is kept at the National Railway Museum at York. There is a photo of it in the York page on my website. The Flying Scotsman is also the name of one of the wilder and amusing eightsome reels sometimes performed at Scottish country dances. I think its possible a modern 20th century reel, named after the train, because after the lead couple have done their routine they "couple up" to the other three couples and lead them off like a train, in a very fast sidestep all the way to the nearest physical obstacle - so usually everyone ends up at the far wall of the village hall at the same time!

I'd say, LEWIS is very much a Scot surname (from the isle mentioned above, a MacLoed stronghold). Get a kilt, in Loud MacLoed, and WEAR IT WITH PRIDE-> the addiction has begun, never to end (maybe slowed by bank acccount and famili expenses ).

Loud MacLoed is also called MacLoed dress and MacLeod of Lewis!!
(That id the bright yellow and black tartan. Personally, I like it, but others don't (too loud for them). Well, I also like yellow.

My wife, grandmother was a Lewis from Conway, South Carolina. If you've got family in that area, you, my wife, and my kids are probably related! I could wear loud MacLoed, to honor my wife's grandmother (who is still living). It is on my long term list, but not immediate.

For that matter,I could also wear the German National to honor my own grandmother (and my wife's Lutheran family roots-> on her paternal side).

    Again, welcome and enjoy!
