Little brother defending the kilt at target...

I was walking around target yesterday, and the coolest thing happened...

I was in and around the toys ( checking out the star wars, for those of you who don't know) and a family ( mom, dad, son and two daughters) were a few feet away. I could here the girls ( both under 12 I think) talking about my wearing a "skirt". I didn't say anything b/c they are kids. One of the parents said something about it being a kilt, and guys can wear them..and the girls kept talking about the man in the skirt. After a few seconds, the boy, who couldn't have been more than 8 or so, told them to "Stop making fun of him. Its a kilt and he can wear it" in a very insistant tone.

I thought it was priceless, as the girls didn't say another word about it, at least what I could hear anyway.

That young man deserves a kilt of his own. It reminds me of the 5-year old boy next door to us. He always sees me kilted, wants one of his own, and wonders why more men are not wearing kilts! Some adults should be so mature.
