"Foreign Correspondant"
Was watching an old WWII film the other day called "Foreign Correspondant". It's about a newspaper reporter who goes to Europe to report on one organization's attempts to stop a general war in Europe. Murder, conspiracy, and intrigue ensue.
In one earlier scene, the reporter is introduced to a Latvian dignitary. Problem is, the Latvian can't speak a word of English. In an attempt to shake the dignitary off so he can follow the lovely lady he's espied, the reporter calls over a Scottish officer, and says "Why don't you tell my good friend here where the kilt comes from." The Scot leads the Latvian away, and his fading dialogue can be heard, "It's an amazing story. You see, the ancient Greeks wore a kilt..."
An entertaining little bit. I didn't get a chance to see the whole movie, though.

(When the smith gets wildly excited, 'tis best to agree with him.)
